Beate Kubitz is a future mobility expert - a researcher, innovator and thought leader. Never content to be pigeon holed, she is also a writer, artist, inventor and outdoors enthusiast. With an office in the north of England, roots in Eastern Germany and a home in the French Pyrenees, she has insight in the strengths and cultures of three European countries. A fondness for mathematics together with a degree in philosophy helps her cross the divide between science and the humanities. Her work spans analysis, policy contributions and hands on service development.
She is also a course contributor and visiting lecturer on the Future of Mobility for the Operational Transport Planning Module of the MSc Transport Planning at the University of Hertfordshire. In 2020 she was awarded a fellowship by the Foundation for Integrated transport to develop research into the impact of rural mobility on city centre traffic.
Beate is the author of Mobility as a Service, its development, deployment and Future (with James Gleave, published by the IET), the Annual Survey of Mobility as a Service 2017-2020 and contributor to transport journals.
Beate is a passionate cyclist and founded a rural electric cargobike project, Cargodale, in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
