Triangulum was a 5-year pilot which aimed to explore novel strategies for decarbonisation of energy and transport across three European cities. For the UK element of the project, Manchester City Council, the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University replaced some of their existing vehicle fleet with electric vehicles and electric cargo bikes, as well as implementing battery storage and smart energy management systems.

The adoption of the new technology presented an array of interesting challenges, ranging from data collection to fleet management. I prepared an evaluation report for the project which examined the process of shifting to a low-emission fleet, its impacts and learning points, in terms of both emissions reductions achieved and behaviour changes by participants.
