Beate contributed to a British Standards Institute report on the Future of Transport and Systems Interoperability, intended to address the issues of system incompatibility which prevent transport systems from functioning together in a MaaS context.

Commissioned as an advisory paper by the Department for Transport, the report makes a number of recommendations, including the development of an ontology of data rather than attempting to impose new standards, a Data Advisory Panel to catalogue and signpost existing sources of data, and the creation of a Data Community to build on existing relationships and promote data interoperability.
