This project contributed to a British Standards Institute report on the Future of Transport and Systems Interoperability, intended to address the issues of system incompatibility which prevent transport systems from functioning together in a MaaS context.
The specific contribution from Beate Kubitz Associates Ltd was to draw together the data standards that relate to shared transport and present them alongside more established transport data standards.
Commissioned as an advisory paper by the Department for Transport, the report makes a number of recommendations, including the development of an ontology of data rather than attempting to impose new standards, a Data Advisory Panel to catalogue and signpost existing sources of data, and the creation of a Data Community to build on existing relationships and promote data interoperability.
