Is it time to rethink bus regulation?

In the UK, different types of bus services are covered by different regulations. This piece for July 2022’s Passenger Transport explains the regulatory frameworks that apply to fixed route commercial bus services, community transport, demand responsive transport and taxis, and considers whether a more flexible approach would enable better fleet utilisation and reduce hurdles to operators.
